Default Hose identity

Does anyone know the name of the metallic, ribbed hose in the pic attached? The reason that I ask is because it has a split in it and I was wondering if this can cause any problems with my car. The view is me facing the engine and the hose in question is in front of the engine, above the radiator etc.

Likely 1 of the A/C lines.. did you look at line and see where it goes ?

Can you get a couple more "clearer" pics from different angles ?

Does the A/C work ?

Sorry, my phone takes pretty crappy pics... Anyways I will go and try to get more pics. Last I knew the AC worked just fine. The hose in question connects right below the high (light green cap marked "H") pressure valve (?). It then curves down and connects into the bottom part of the engine block area. My car is a 2006 Tiburon SE (2.7L V6). I am going to the dealership at 11am this morning for an issue with my check engine light. There is a Technical Service bulletin that I found online that says that the dealership can update (reflash) my ECM. Does anyone know if they charge for this ECM update? My car is still under 60,000 miles so I'm hoping that they don't...

That looks like the A/C line to me as well. That ribbing appears to just be the insulation to keep it cool. And while I can't make it out very well in that pic, my guess is it's probably just the insulation that split.

Program is for OX logic, 0130/0150 I think it is... Depends on what of the 100+ codes available that they find..

Find an 0130 or 0150 code, do the program... but I'd slide the program in anyway to bring PCM up to date so you dont come back next week with Ox codes when you was here this week for some other code..

Default Update

Thanks for the info everyone!! Went to the dealership with the TSB in hand. They performed the diagnostic, updated the ECM (per the TSP) for the oxygen sensor issue and didn't charge a penny! I was sure that they were gonna screw me over because of the stories I've read online about Hyundai service etc. Car runs well and they didn't think much of the insulation split in the AC hose...

And..... what was the code(s) found during original GDS scan ...

This should be noted on your invoice.

What does the invoice say ?

Customer states -> MIL illuminates

Cause -> Scan, found code(s) ..........................

Repair -> install program per TSB xx-xx-xxx or .........

It says:

Check engine light illuminated
PO130-02 sensor circuit malfunction, needs ECU upgrade
Performed ECU upgrade

The original scan that I got done at Pep Boys said it was a PO130, so it was exactly what I found online and printed out for them!! I'm glad that forums like these are available:-)

Legit claim.. kinda vague in their description..

They might need more documentation on their end for Hyundai to pay claim..

I write mine up as :

C - MIL

C - GDS, P-0130 Ox circuit activity

R - Reprogram PCM with program #xxx per TSB xx-xx-xxx

I get paid for scan, as I claimed GDS in the cause line with results of scan, and attach screen shot of the scan as documentation as required in case of audit/DPSM review.

I have listed the repair per Hyundai requirements and source of repair..

Good to see your visit was uneventful and they seemed to be on the ball.
