Default mid pipe or flex pipe question

just bought this car for my daughter and the exhaust leaks in the flexible part of the pipe was looking on ebay for a replacement and they show a federal emissions version and a california emissions version, they both look the same, I do not believe this car is a california model but how do I know for sure. any help would be appreciated.

First how old is the car and how many miles? It may still be covered under warranty,.

Emission certification label is attached to bottom side of hood.. provided it has original hood.

Better determination would be to call dealer parts dept... ask them to load your VIN on MICROCAT, when VIN loaded, they can look right there and see if it is FED or CA emission..

sorry it is a 2001 with 140,000 miles, don't think the warranty will help on this one.
