new tiburon owner
i just recently perchased a 98 tiburon with 62,000 miles. It has the 2.0L 4 cylinder. i do a lot of highway driving at higher speeds 85 or 90. the tiburon cruises at those speeds around 4100 rpm's which seems high in comparison to other cars. Is that normal for a tib, and if so is there any way to get the car to to cruise at lower rpms or to have the engine work less hard at those speeds? Also there is a slight tick coming form the left front side of the car which goes of and on, its very subtle, a friend said it could be the fuel injectors, but im not sure, any suggestions? I drive the car real hard, on the highway and around town constantly taking it to 5000rpms and up. Im looking for simple engine mods that will increase torque throughout the rev range and anything else that will smooth out the overall ride. When driving the car hard what precautionary methods should i take to ensure the car lasts for a while at least..any suggestions would be appreciated.. What the best mod for this car, which is the first thing i should that has the best value?

RE: new tiburon owner
hi i jus recently got a 1.6 1997 coupe...
at 85 - 90 in gear 5 my revs are about 4ish,....... not realy on the 5,000 side..... it still cruises at those speeds.. but feel like i need a 6th gear to bring the revs down.......
i suggest u get a good air filter.. kit ...... that will smooth it down and calm it down a bit if your looking to push the throttle quite a bit...
theres a company selling sports discs on ebay for about 110 pounds .. dont no how good they are thou.....
i dont no if a different manifold would calm your revs down in higher gears.. not sure. about that these cars..
