Default Spark plug question for an 07 Tiburon

My 07 Tiburon has 56K miles and the local dealer told me I needed to have the spark plugs replaced soon. No starting problems so far but he said to have it done as a preventative measure. $420 seemed high for the V-6. Also said the timing belt needs to be changed soon for around $600. I love the car and not against spending the money but are these prices fair and do they need to be done? And what would happen if I don't go ahead with these repairs? Thanks! Steve

The plugs should be good to 90K miles so I'd skip on that. The price is high because you have to remove the upper intake manifold to access the rear 3 plugs. Not a fun job.

THe timing belt needs replacing at 60K miles. Do not put that off. Get it done or engine damage can happen if the bely breaks. I think I paid about $500 for mine.
