Default Tibby '00 engine swap for mitsu 4g63?

Hi, a week ago i found out either my headgasket was blown out or my engine head was cracked (or both >&lt, and knowing it will cost around 1,000$ + (CAN) to repair, i was thinking about swapping the engine for a mitsubishi (heard its been done before) 4g63 or 4g63turbo engine (they run around 500$ close to where i live).
Since i have little knowladge about engine swaps, im looking for some help with my questions:
Is it possible to swap out the 2.0L DOHC from my 2000 tibby for a mitsubishi 4g63 engine ?
How much will it cost ?
Is it a direct drop ? or will it need fabrication $$$ ?
what year/model does the mitsu 4g63 engine has to be ?
If the mitsu engine does not fit... is their any other engine at all that will fit as a direct drop ?

Thanks!
(sorry for my english.. im from quebec!.. ie: french)

I doubt its a direct swap, there is always fabricaton work needed when swaping out engines, even in, for example, a chevy s10's 4.3L for a 350, that is probably the most direct engine swap there is, but there is still a motor mount difference, but they are such a common swap that there is a kit for it. What you are trying to do isn't that common, so you will need to have a mock up done($), then the mounts fabricated($), you will need the wire harness and ecu/ecm($$), new exhaust fabricated($), along with a new trans and trans mount($), along with all the linkage for the trans($), the list will go on and on and even though you can find the engine for $500, you will spending a lot more just getting it put in your car. If you ask me, you should buy yourself a new/used head($200-300), have it ported/polished(a basic port and polish with will bring your base line up about 20-30hp will cost somewhere in the ball park of ($500-600), then you would probably just need your ecm reflashed, and a possible injector upgrade, and you'll have a fairly stout tiburon.
Just giving you an option. An engine swap sounds direct, but with newer engines, there is just so much b/s that goes along with it, and that is what will be costing you all the money.

Yeah, I agree. Swap engines when the bottom end goes bad. Your English is perfect, BTW.

one more thing i would recommend is, if you go the route of having your head ported and polished, go the extra step and put stronger head bolts(see if ARP has them for the tiburon) andget a good quality head gasket so you have a stronger top end. having your timing belt done would be a really good idea too.
