2006 Tucson Intermittant No Start
Hello, lately my 2006 Hyundai Tucson, 2.0L 5 speed transmission has been giving me no start situations. The engine will turn over but won't catch and spring into life. The Hyundai Dealer replaced the crankshaft sensor a month ago and the problem didn`t happen for a while afterwards, but now it happens almost every day or every other day.
To start it we try these things:
Tried pushing in clutch and releasing...pushing in again and it started.
but didn`t work the next time
Tried taking key out, reversing it with the teeth changed in ignition to opposite sides, it started.
but didnt work the next time
Tried shifting the gear shift with clutch in through all the spectrum of the gears, let out clutch and then press again...it started.
will start more times than not by doing this but is gradually taking longer for it to work.
Also would like to note that when it does decide to start there isnt a lot of whr whr whr and then it catches, it will catch right away with the touch of the key as if there was nothing wrong for the last 15 minutes or so of trying.
Any ideas what I can check or have checked? In a standard tranny is there a neutral safety switch like in an automatic? I just think it is possessed.
Thanks for any assistance.

I know this thread is old...
but another place to check is the alternator positive (+) main cable back to battery. Mine rotted away at the alternator. I replaced it with some welding cable for a much better than OEM. 👌
