2007 Tucson Exhaust
I have a 2007 Tucson and so far I am very happy with it. I am trying to reduce the backpressure in the engine by attempting to change the existing exhaust routing so that it does not have to run thru that huge muffler that creates so much back pressure. Has anyone attempted to correct this problem with a new exhaust? Are there companies out there that produce a replacement system that is more efficent? Am I going to have to attempt to solve this problem on my own?

No - I did not measure it; I'm assuming that it does by the way it appears to be constructed. This vehile was not produced for power so again I assume that the backpressure produced by this muffler was not of prime concern when it was designed. Do you have any info that I should know?

[align=left]Everybody assumes that they need a bigger exhaust to make more power, etc. The truth is that cars today are already engineered for maximum performance. The exhaust is already tuned to the engine to give the right balance of performance, backpressure, and sound retardation. Mess with the exhaust at your own risk.

Bottom line, cars today are designed to be as efficient as possible. You will gain little performance or mileage increases from changing the factory exhaust if the engine is mostly stock.
