2008 Tucson V6 idle issue
Hi,
I've been looking for info and I'm not sure the trouble I'm having is identical to other posts.
Anyway :
My Tucson is a 2008 model (still under warranty) with about 62K km on it.
I'm having an intermittent problem with the engine stalling on idle.
This occurs when the engine is hot after some driving (not on a cold start), when I come to a stop and shift to either N or P the RPM would go under 500 and the engine cuts. Most of the time this happens, restarting will work but after a second or so the issue repeats. However, shifting to D quickly will boost up the RPM by a bit and keep it running. As far as I recall if I come to a halt and keep in D the engine will not stall.
As I said this doesn't happen all the time. I have noticed some occasions when the shift to N would cause the RPM to drop but then rise again to keep the engine running. On another occasion I noticed the RPM fluctuates a bit on idle.
As it's hard to duplicate and I hate to get it to the dealer just to be told that nothing can be done.
I've read some posts regarding the replacement of the TPS. Could this be related to my case as well ?
I'de appreciate any infor or comments you may have.
