Clutch pedal slow return and no pressure. Can't shift!
My car was 100% fine. I stopped at a red light at the top of a hill near home. I pushed in the clutch pedal to shift to neutral. It hit the floor and I heard a "crunch" and the pedal returned very slowly. I pushed it again to shift to 1st and it returned very slowly but I could not shift. I was near home so I was able to coast down the hill and managed to get it in to 1st then second gear while it was coasting and make it home.
My friend who knows about cars some inspected the cylinders and hydraulic lines, checked the fluid and used the bleeder valve to check for air in the system. There were NO leaks or fluid dripped anywhere. The clutch pedal isn't "dead" like in many other posts and doesn't just stay on the floor until reset manually. It returns very slowly and it vibrates like it's rubbing against something that's spinning somewhere if that makes sense.
I can't shift but I CAN start the car when I push the clutch in. So it's doing that anyway.
Had it towed to a friend's shop but he can't look at it until Monday. In the meantime, I'm wondering about best and worst case scenarios money wise. He only said that it's "not building pressure" and that it's usually a leak but that he didn't open anything up yet.
I'm not great with cars (I'm learning) but I'm wondering what all it could be. Does it sound bad? What the heck was that crunch? THANKS!

Sorry 2007 4-cylinder Tuscon front wheel drive.
Thanks for the graphic. I think I looked at the spring with a flashlight and it looked ok. It wouldn't spring back at all if it was the spring right? It would just lay on the floor or flop around? I wonder what's making it vibrate like it's trying to "catch" but it can't. Thanks for the suggestions.
