Default Stalling Hyundai Tuscon 2006

We have had an issue that we've found many others have- stalling while decelerating, power steering goes out, etc... repair trip 3 times- but no computer code found, and they couldn't "duplicate the problem". After searching here- they did replace the TPS (we'll see if this works)- but PLEASE, anyone who is having problems- you need to do 2 things in order to prevent someone from getting hurt:

1. Contact Hyundai Corporate- 1-800-633-5151, ask for Consumer Affairs and file a report. While I'm not certain this will do much on its own- they do say they can't fix a problem if they don't know it exists.

2. Contact the NHTSA Vehicle safety hotline and open a case- 1-888-327-4236 (or 202-366-4000). If there are enough complaints, hopefully a recall will occur. We have small children- and like many others, we don't want to hear that something is done after someone gets injured when their car stalls in traffic. I was told by a Hyundai rep, when I mentioned I would post information on forum pages, to have them call Hyundai first- no the NHTSA- but of course, that would be in their best interest. Not trying to vindictive- but we need to contact both in order to ensure something is done about this problem.

Please pass this on if any other forums exist!

Thats the oldest 1 in the book...

Sounds like dealer tech did not bother to call tech assist for the off the wall concern..

You is driving along, and after a good bit, you roll up to a stop sign with foot on brake pedal, and in last few feet of stop, or stopped, the engine stalls.. (normal to lose steering "ASSIST" with engine not running, steering wheel will still operate without assist, how do you think we push car into shop)..

You have a 2.7L engine.

Repair is to replace the "Throttle Position Sensor".. Yours has a grey color body on it from factory.. new part is black.

All the ones I have dealt with do not leave a code.. call to tech assist got me set straight in matter of minutes, no wasted diagnosis time here.
