Default Air Intake Control Switch lights, while using AUTO Climate Control.

Hi,

Does anyone know why, when you use the climate control AUTO button its turns off the 'Air intake control indicator lights'. The lights i'm on about are situated on the button in the middle of the MODE and AMB button.

Ok i know i didnt explain that too well. I take it when you use the automatic climate control buton it's automatically controling the fresh air or recirculation air within the cabin? Which is why these lights staff OFF?

1. When you use the automatic climate control is this also contoling the fresh and recirculation air mode?
2. If so why do the fresh and recirculation air mode lights stay off when using AUTO climate control?

I'm sure the answer is staring me in the face. If anyone needs me to explain this a bit better, let me know...

Thanks, i'd be interested in knowing....

Kevin

Yes, it controls both. The majority of the time it will use fresh, outside air because the quality of the air outside will be better than the stale, humid air inside the car. There is a sensor on of the front of the car (near the outside temp sensor) that can sense when the air quality is poor and switches to recirc mode.
