Default excesssive heat from engine compartment

for the last few weeks i have noticed a lot of heat from the engine compartment into my car.
i check fluids all seem well. it feels like the heater is on but heater is not on. no need for heat on sunny days right?

I'm a little confused. On a sunny summer day, there should be heat in the engine compartment. Do you mean heat from the A/C vents in the passenger compartment?
