Arrow HLA Knocking???

I have a XG 350 that started knocking a few days after an oil change from a local Valvoline shop. It sounds like it is coming from the top end on the left bank (the side under the intake manifold). After doing some reading I thought it was a bad HLA. I have checked all of them and they all seem to be good. Any ideas?

Also I noticed all og the HLA's have a pin hole in the side of them. Does anyone know which way it is supose to face?

What oil filter did they install? If it wasn't an OEM Hyundai filter that could be your problem. Many cheap aftermarket filters are too restrictive and could starve your engine for oil.

It is an aftermarket filter. I also found out the tech used 10w40 oil. I asked the local dealer and he said to use 5w20. We live in south Florida. Would the combination of these 2 being wrong cause knocking and the HLAs not to operate correctly?

That oil is way to thick. Yes, the combination of the 2 would cause that problem. Use a Hyundai filter and a 5w20 oil and the knocking should go away.
