2007 hyundai elantra Remote question (Hazard lights and Remote)
I have an 2007 elantra i just got recently with only 6000 miles on it. The issue is when i lock the doors using the remote the hazard lights does not flash. The manuel however does state that when you lock the doors using the remote the hazard light should flash. When the doors are unlock using the remote the hazard light however does flash. I want to know if anyone with an 07 elantra does get some kind of confirmation light the hazard light flashing when you lock the doors with the remote. I will like your input before i call hyundai warranty department.

RE: 2007 hyundai elantra Remote question (Hazard lights and Remote)
The lights flash not to indicate the doors are locked, they flashto indicate the alarm is set. Using the remote does lock the doors but if thelights don't flash it means thatthe alarm is not set because oneof your doors, hood or trunklid is not closed correctly.

Check each door switch (you can tell if they are working by opening closing each door and seeing if the interior lights come on/off as expected). If they are good check the trunk lid and see if it's light comes on/off properly (might have to tip down the back seats to verify light goes off).
Finally check the hood switch which is rubber covered and on the passenger side if I recall correctly. Don't think there's an easy way to check the hood switch but the rubber above the switch may be adjustable to push the switch down a little harder. As a quick test push down the switch hard, close all the doors and trunk and press the lock button. See if the lights flash.
If all the switches check out Hyundai's recommendation is to replace the BCM (Body Control Module) which is located in behind the center console around the ashtray I believe.
Good luck!
