sonata gls 2009 bought used at 8000 miles now has 12000 two months later. my clutch periodically engages at floor level when releasing the clutch. most recently the clutch pedal when depressing looses tension for a couple of inches then feels very hard until it gets to the floor, upon releasing and engaging the clutch the pedel engages at floor level. I cannot find the triggering incidence to replicate the problem. Went to the dealer about a week after I bought the car but even though they tried they could find no problem, nor history of a problem for this car nor for the model in general. The problem is worsening and I will take it back in hopes it occurs while they drive it.
Anyone heard of this issue?

I would bet you have some dirt in the hydrolic clutch system, and it's hanging up. Don't wait for it to burn up your clutch, the dealer will blame it on you and won't fix the clutch under warranty. Dealer wants about $2000 to replace a clutch. Take your car to a small mechanic shop and tell them you want the clutch fluid bled clean. It's a real common problem. I read about people all the time burning up the clutch, and can't understand why. If you have any mechanical skills at all, this is a really easy thing to do. A five minute job.
