Default Have low-speed engine stalling and a bunk heater

Hey guys!!!
I really need some help here. I bought myself an Automatic2000 Hyundai Elantra GLS Sedan back in February of 2007. Everything seemed fine with the car and I have matained the car pretty well myself: oil changes, new air filter, serviced the fuel injection, replaced the thermostat and rear wheel cyclinders. My problem is, first, my heater just quit working one morning. All it does now is blow cold air. My second issue, my car is now stalling when I am at low rpms or speed. It will just die after driving it for a half an hour or so and then it takes 45 minutes to get it to start again. It acts like it wants to start but can't and right before it dies, you feel the engine hiccup slightly or something of that nature. Did a little research and found there was a recall for the Mass Airflow Sensors on many of the 4 cyl 2000 Elantras. Does anyone have any ideas? I am new to Hyundais, used to older Hondas and Mazdas.

Thanks,
Patricia

As far as the heat goes, I'd check the HVAC controls first to make sure they are operating correctly. Then check the heater core itself.

For the stalling, have you check to see if there are ant codes in the computer? Scan for codes first then check the MAF. I'd try cleaning it first; if that doesn't solve the problem then test it and replace it if needed.
