Just picked up my first Hyundai after a decade of driving 15 year old Honda Civics. We bought a 2009 Elantra Touring and are loving it so far - first road trip to the mountains is planned for tomorrow.

My question is about whether anyone can confirm if Hyundai dealerships in the US will cover our Hyundai Canada warranty (we are anticipating a move to the US in the next couple of years). The dealership in Edmonton couldn't give a definitive answer, so we opted to pay for the 7yr/120,000 km extended warranty from a third-party provider, which definitely covers us in the US. However, due to several screw-ups during the car purchase process, I don't entirely trust the dealership.

Any input on this issue from the community on this forum? I'll post my impressions on our new wheels once we get through the first couple thousand kilometers.
