I'm new here.
I have a black '07 Santa Fe SE FWD. I got the car brand new in high school and it's really been a great car for me because I tow jet skis yet I like the good gas mileage ad versatility of this sized SUV.
I decided to join this forum because today my fuel filler cap wouldn't open when I pulled the switch. I looked and looked and couldn't find it anywhere on the internet or in the car's manual. I didn't have enough gas to get to the dealership 140 miles away so I just had to search myself. If I had signed up for the forum early I could've had help in this probably so I decided to join.
p.s. To manually open the fuel filler cap go in the cargo area and open the plastic cover with a pic of the gas pump on it. You'll see a lever that says something like Emergency Fuel Lid Opener. Pull that while reaching around and helping the door open with your other hand. I think the problem is some kind of spring that's not working and stopping the door from popping open because the actuator works, the door just won't open by itself. It's still under warranty so next time I'm down in Scottsdale I'll have it checked out. Until then, I'm manually opening the door.
