Need help with a 2002 hyundai Sonata
Hello everyone:
I need some help wiyh my car. So one day my check engine light came on and my car started acting crazy! WHen i push on the gas it just revs and then bucks but doesn't seem to go. It's been doing that for two weeks until finally I took it to a shop. They said it was a TPS sensor so I went to Kragen and picked one up and my Fiance put it in. Well needless to say the light is still on and the problem is still going on. So I take it back and they said my car is fine it just needs a tune up for $699, and it has some misfire codes but that should go away with the tune up. What should I do any ideas? Should I go buy a new Tps sensor through the dealer? Or pay the $699 for a tune up? Please help!!!

Take it to Autozone for a free code scan and write down the codes. Then they'll clear the code and make the light go away... for free. Tell us what the codes are. That will tell us why it's "bucking". Don't be replacing the TPS sensor again, it's probably fine.
You probably don't need a $700 "tune up". A tune up is basically just:
Plugs
Wires
Air filter
Fuel filter
If so, when?
In addition you should do...
Trans flush
Coolant flush
Timing belt need to be changed on time at 60,000 miles. Accessory drive belts are a good thing to change when you do the timing belt.

RE: Need help with a 2002 hyundai Sonata
Hi, Can someoneexplain what is done at the 60K service for a 2002 Sonata? What does the full service include? And is the 120K service exactly the same thing over again, or is there additional stuff to check/replace?
Thank you.
Thank you.
