I find the Elantra is the top choice in Consumer report and test drove it. The dealer also recommend me the 2015 Sonata and I felt good also about Sonata. The local dealer gives me two formal quotas: one is Elantra 2015 Sport Automatic $18146(5200 off MSRP). The other is Sonata 2015 2.4L Sport $20108(3900 off MSRP).
I evaluated these prices in autopriceshare.com and they are fair(of course the Elantra has a bigger discount). Most of people here have driven Elantra or sonata before. In your opinion, which choice is better? Any suggestions will be helpful for me.

An old thread, but worth comparing prices with my 2016 manual Elantra, that I got back then for $12,800. Presently at 67,000 miles, there have been no repairs necessary. The manual, geared about 6% lower than the automatic, gives better acceleration & gives much better mountain travel, than the automatic. MPG has been smashing. Summer tanks of gas have often been well over 40MPG(paper & pencil). The latest travel with two people, back & forth over a 4000+ foot mountain pass, the trip computer indicated 49MPG.
