Hello All!
New to the Forum... but I joined to sell a car piece by piece... Here's the story
Apparently, I like the Hyundai Accent, as I have owned 3 of them. In 2002 I bought a 1998 Hyundai Accent 3-Door Hatchback with 58k miles on it. When I bought it, it was one of the few cars in my price range, and gets good gas milage (I drive a lot!). It got ~28 miles/gallon at that time. I started working at a repair shop and switched to Amsoil Synthetic Oil, which, over the course of the following 6 months, brought my milage to ~38 miles/gallon. What a difference!!! In 2005, I got into a little fender-bender (at least) which happened to total the car, but not damage the motor at all. In fact, the car still ran in spite of coolant pouring everywhere and the battery cracking.
A few months later, I found a 97 Hyundai Accent with clean body but a blown transmission for $100. I bought it, and my brother did a motor & tranny swap (identical motors). It ran, but really didn't like it. The check engine light was on with about 10 codes popping up. I took the car to my mechanic and paid ~$1000 for many sensors to be replaced, including both 02 sensors, the throttle position sensor, etc. He also fixed an exhaust leak, replaced the eshaust manifold (cracked in the accident), and did some other minor repairs. It ran much better, but not like it had. There are two computers in this car; I now had a total of four. I tried a couple of things, but eventually bought a 95 Hyundai Accent that has since been my daily driver. The 97 was on the road for a few months, running choppy, but has only good parts.
I am now looking to sell this car in it's entirety or piece by piece. It is Grey, with good (RUST-FREE) doors, hatch, body panels, interior seats, stock radio, new sensors, etc. I would be willing to negotiate for any part on the car. The motor still starts and runs, the tranny is still good. Front lights, rear lights, fenders, bumpers, ALL IN GOOD SHAPE. Exhaust in good shape. Computer, New Battery, Tires, brake rotors and pads, suspension parts, you name it... the one thing that might not do is the roof - I had moved recently from a house under construction and before I got it towed, someone threw something on the roof which dented it (I believe it could be popped out).
PLEASE CONTACT ME, with any request. I am anxious to get some of my grand back.
