The car is completely stock on the outside but it now makes 301hp to the wheels. That is gonna change soon. My plans is a body kit, suspension, and brake upgrades. Paint is last. This should be an awesome road trip vehicle when I'm done!

I removed the decals except for the Hyundai emblem in the middle. I think it looks cleaner this way!

This is the stock exhaust. 2 hours later the Insynerator system was installed and the sound was awesome without being to raspy.

This is my first trip to the muffler shop. I had the Insynerator 2-chamber mufflers installed. I thought it was ok but a little too quiet so I went back and had the stock resonator and cat replaced by a Insynerator Bullet muffler and high-flow cat. I had costom-made headers I bought on E-bay a few weeks later. It took 2 months to get the sound right but it was worth the trouble!

Finally got the driving lights to work! The front clip I bought at the salvage yard was the same color as the car and scratches was mimimum. It makes no difference since a body kit and paint is coming soon.

My first exhaust mod was getting the Insynerator mufflers and y-pipe installed. The second was 2 weeks later when I had the resonator replaced with an Insynerator Bullet muffler. The final trip a custom y-pipe was fabricated to mate to the custom-made headers I installed at home and a hi-flow cat to keep everything legal.

Rear view of my Sonata after I installed a set of Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs and Gabriel Gold struts and shocks. The stance from the back looks really agressive. Lower than I thought it would be for the Pro-Kit.

The Eibach Pro-Kit dropped my car a total of 2 inches from where I mesured the wheel wells before the installation. It sit really nice. I recommend this kit!

Two inches of gap is gone and no rubbing! The Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs on the Sonata is the best setup for a streetable and agressive stance. Well worth the money!

After 1200 highway miles the Eibach Pro-Line springs settled in and dropped an additional 1/4 of an inch! The ride loosened up too so it isn't bouncy anymore but it handles like it's on rails! The ride should only improve once I swap the factory 16" allows for some 18's, better rubber, brakes, and a strut tower brace.

I have a slight toe-out when I had the alignment done but I have no problem with tire wear or handling with the stock 16" allow wheels and tires but I'm upgrading to 18's and Dunlop z-rated rubber so I had to get an alignment kit from Eibach. These adjustable ball joints should fix the problem when I install these tomorrow. (Stock #5.67195K) Note: This kit did not fit my car. There was a difference between '06-early '07 Sonatas and mid '07-'10 Sonata. Since mine was made in early '07 I had to go with Duralast adjustable ball joints for the Honda Civics. They fit but then I had a clearance problem with them hitting the shock tower bit a simple hole trimmed in the tower fixed that. Since I reported the problem with Eibach the took back the ball joints free of charge and gave me a full refund. They also updated their website and no longer off these parts for early NF Sonatas.

With the drivetrain and suspension completed it's time for cosmetics. I decided to tint the tail lights using 2 coats of Krylon Tail Light Tint Spray and 2 coats of Krylon Clear Coat Spray. It's pitch black but the lights shine through for legal use on the street.

I didn't want to go over the top with wheel size since this is my daily driver so I went with the stock size of 17" Proline Alloy Ultra-Lite Wheels with Falken P225-50R17 V-Rated Tires. The Eibach Pro-Kit springs tuck the tires in nicely without tire rub.

Another angle of my Sonata GLS with Proline 17" alloy light weight wheels and Falken Z-rated tires. The Eibach Pro-Kit springs give the car a slight rake but with the wheels and tires it looks really good.

To freshen up the looks of the car under the hood I decided to repaint the engine cover. Since I'm gonna repaint the car back the original white it was the only sensible color to go with. The "V", "6", 3.3", and Hyundai emblems can be pryed off since they are held on with small pegs on the emplems and holes in the cover itself but they can easily break so I had to be careful. I already coated the engine cover with black primer after sanding it with 800-grit sand paper so it can stick. I started with my first of two coats of flat whit Krylon automotive spray can paint.

After it dried 5 hours I put the emblems back on and with a drop of Crazy Glue on each peg I don't have to worry about them coming off.

The color change made a world of difference under the hood and all together it only ran under $35! I might do some more under the hood but for right now that is enough.

The new version of the Pro Kit only lower the car one inch and there is no Sportline springs for the NF Sonata. Had clearance problems with the adjustable ball joints hitting the shock towers but notching them solved the problem. Rubbing is minor and only at full wheel lock with 4 people in the car. Handles great and not bouncy like other springs.

Transplanted a 3.8L V6 in place of the 3.3L V6 it orginally had in it. Straight bolt in with some donor parts off the original engine.

The 3.8L is from a '08 Hyundai Azera Limited. Used the heads, intake, fuel rails, lines, and computer. My custom exhaust bolted up with no modifications.

Using the original computer on the 3.8 triggered the check engine light so I disconnected the negative battery cable for 30 seconds and the computer reset. After a check for leaks I went for a round trip to Houston. (400 miles) So far no problem. Seem to fun stronger going uphill. Accelleration seam unchanged.

The factory radio stopped working so I installed this unit from BOSS. The stereo with installation kit and wiring harness cost a total of $210. I intalled BOSS speakers in the doors for $40 a pair.

The Insynerator 2-Chambered Mufflers on my Sonata is interfering with the installation of my rear diffuser so they have to go. This is the Insynerator Bullit Chambered Muffler. It is gonna be mounted behind the high flow cat with straight pipe tails after the y in the back with stainless steel oval exhaust tips. With the 3.8 conversion, eBay headers, and bullet it should be a tad louder than my previous Insynerator setup. A vid on the new system will be made after this is installed in the morning.
